The Warburton Custom Meyer Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece starts out as a modern production Meyer and is then modified to closely resemble a vintage Meyer Bros. mouthpiece - without having to spend substantially more for a used older vintage model.
What we do:
  • enlarge the chamber to vintage "medium chamber" specs
  • widen and lengthen the window to vintage specs
  • resculpt the floor contour to give it a more gradual "S" curve
  • round the inner sidewalls
  • reface the mouthpiece using a vintage Meyer Bros. curve
  • create a properly shaped and proportioned medium rollover baffle

Results of the work:

  • creates a warmer, fuller sound
  • adds harmonics, flexibility, richness, and breadth to the sound
  • make the mouthpiece as responsive and reed friendly as possible
  • give the sound power and edge when needed
